Meh, I wrote quite a lot yesterday then left it open to go eat dinner. The woman we are staying with wanted to play solitaire after dinner and got quite addicted so I didn't get the computer back last night and even though it said it was auto-saving my work, it certainly did not so I'll start over tomorrow. For those of you who don't know, you can subscribe with your email address to my page and it will send you an email every time I add an entry - this might be easier for you than checking it randomly.... read more

New Zealand is the first country in the world to see the new sun each day. And in New Zealand, Gisborne is the first town and region to have the sunrise. So with a bit of a struggle, we had her loaded into the car for a quick 10 min drive to a perfect vantage point. On our first night we went to the Hot Spas in the city, everywhere in New Zealnd seems to have these outdoor hot pools and they are cheap as chips to use. The next day we done a self guided tour of the place stopping at various places to read out an explanation from the booklet about certain buildings and their "Art Deco feel", Was a really nice city. After touring Napier we bombed onto Gisborne, whilst Napier is famous ... read more
