On Saturday, we left Taupo and drove up to Hahei on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula. We stopped at 'The Talisman' cafe in the Karangahake Gorge and noted that it was getting a lot warmer and more humid the further north we travelled. We started this travel blog in 2005 when we set off on a ten-month around-the-world trip with a couple of backpacks and not much else. In 2008, we emigrated to New Zealand with four suitcases and a guitar and spent the first month travelling throughout the country, from Auckland to Christchurch, via a roundabout route. this is what New Zealand is like - no air brushing or photoshop needed. You go to a beach - and it is perfect... Picture perfect. If you dont believe - come and visit...
