We flew out of Sydney on Easter Sunday, headed for the green green grass of home! After 2 weeks of relaxing, eating, drinking, hanging out, the next 2 weeks were to be a bit more full throttle :-)
We arrived in Auckland to a typically cloudy day. Nothing like the perfect blue sky we had just left. But that's why it's called "Aoteroa", Land Of The Long White Cloud, ah?
We were met by Paul and Maryanne at the airport, who very kindly lent us their car. We quickly visited Sarah, Nick, Tonia, Dave, Georgie and Theo, before heading back to Paul & Maz's for Hells Pizza & Stella's with a few mates. Next day Mum and Dad picked us up and drove us to Wellington. Stayed with Nana, applied for my Visa extension, saw Mel and Ben, showed Charmaine some of the capital.
Flying trip to the South Island, flew into Christchurch to see Dean & Jules, which was great! They drove us around the Bluff and showed us the sights which was cool :-)
Back into Wellington, picked up our hire car and shot up country. We came up through Taupo, stayed in Rotorua the night,
CK and The Beehive
Parliament building in Wellington up through Tauranga and into Auckland. Partied in town with the Auckland crew, checked out Auckland, then headed up to Kerikeri.
Great to be back at home! We introduced Charmaine to life in the country, I think she took it well :-) We drove up to the top of the Island, Cape Reinga, checking out some beaches, Northland kai and a kiwi house.
Spent some time on the boat & had a look around Paihia / Russel.
Tearfull farewell at the airport, but great to see everyone.
Great place home.
