Got up this morning and drove into Auckland. We went to Domain Park to show the van to some girls, who said they'd get back to us in the afternoon. The other couple who were interested in seeing it bailed out. We checked into our mini apartment hotel place (which has a small kitchen/fridge and free internet) and in the afternoon got word that the girls didn't want the van; they had bought an automatic instead. I was starting to panic a little bit about getting rid of the van, so we went over to the Backpacker's Car Market to see what their deal was. They were really unhelpful, rude and bordered on being mean. We wanted to think about if we wanted to sign up and they bullied us into thinking we had to in the next few minutes or the space would be gone. We decided to give it a go.
We went grocery shopping and made ourselves a nice dinner at our little apartment. It felt good to have as long of a shower as we wanted, and to sleep in a real bed.
