Today I decided to do the Coast to Coast walk. Now, I was a bit naive since I assumed that I would find food on the way so I only brought water. This was a terrible mistake since the track mostly run through parks and small communities, but with no stores or anything. I started out in the harbour and went up through many parks and up to one amazing viewpoint (as seen in the panorama picture). Besides not bringing any food I also had a map that doesn't show the full track and around where my map stopped the arrows did as well. So I wandered around hungry and tired in the sun for one extra hour before I found my way again as well as an Ice cream truck :D
So I got myself a sugar rush, after all I had been walking for 4h in the sun with only a bottle of water so I well deserved it. Shortly after that I found a McDonald and take a late lunch there before I headed for the ocean and the end of the track.
After that I was so tired that I took the bus back and took it easy for the rest of the evening and packed up my stuff since I was leaving for Taupo the following morning. All in all the track was 16km and took me 5hours (due to getting lost and had a lunch break) but it was nice to see other sides of Auckland.
