As viewed on flight from Detroit to LA on February 26, 2008
Amazingly enough all of our flights yesterday left on time - we flew from Toronto to Detroit to LA to Fiji, clocking in about eighteen hours in the air (with plenty of time waiting in airports in between). I think Jason enjoyed his first commercial flight experience - although much preferred the shorter two flights!

We arrived in Nadi, Fiji at 5am on February 28 (losing Wednesday February 27 entirely in our travels). Our hotel was about a 20 minute cab ride from the airport, and it’s very much a tropical paradise. We can even see the ocean from the back porch of our room. The temperatures are lovely - particularly compared to the snowstorm we left behind in Canada. We’re hoping to avoid the sun in the peak hours today as even the 9am sun felt toasty on our pale Canadian skin. We were fortunate enough to be able to check-in to our hotel as soon as we arrived and have spent the morning exploring our hotel and a few nearby stores and restaurants.

Not as nice as the one in Orlando Kid (because didn't go outside to see the palm trees!).

It's a little dark (was 5am!!), but this is the 747 we flew on from LA to Nadi, Fiji. A very L-O-N-G flight, but I did manage to get a little sleep.

This is where we ate breakfast the morning we arrived in Fiji - a nice little patio overlooking Port Denarau marina.

As with many of the buildings in "paradise", there were no walls/doors on our hotel lobby - just a nice breeze flowing right through!

One of the three buses that transport visitors around Denarau Island (where all of the resorts were) - this one, only goes between the three Sheraton resorts (you need a BLUE bus to go to the Port! Lol).

Our hotel in Fiji - very much reminded me of Caribbean Beach Resort in Disney World.
