The black rocks against the azure water made a beautiful contrast.

If you look closely you will see three tiny bright blue fish in a rock pool on the foreshore of Moturakau - two in the centre and one in the top middle left of the picture.

If you look closely you'll see two pure white terns amongst the green of the mahogany tree in the centre of the shot.

Another one on the broken branch - they were very tame and let you get quite close.

The water was spectacular and you could easily see the "bombies" below the surface of the water, which are surrounded by fish of every kind when you get down into their world!

The bombies were everywhere you looked and the water clarity was superb.

As we disembarked for snorkelling there were fish all around where we entered - hundreds of them and so easy to spot from above the waterline.

Yes, that's it's true name. Don't you just love the colour of the water, the pure white sand and the "orphaned" palm trees growing because floating coconuts became stranded on the island!
