Last time we chatted we were leaving Kalbarri if I recall. Thanks for the comments guys. The comment headed ‘Talks under water’ was from my EX-stepson Michael Stubbs. I did in fact have a cuppa tea and a good lie down after that last effort and hopefully all future blogs will be a bit shorter. Also in answer to Annie Gibson’s comment about my hair and the lack of product maybe I should have borrowed some from those Gibson toy boys when we were in the Barosssa? I did have a haircut the day after that photo was taken so I do look a little more stylish at the moment. Keep those comments coming. It is nice to know that someone is reading my ramblings and it is not all a waste of time. As I ... read more

We went out for a “girl’s night out in Broome” , which involved HAIR STRAIGHTNERS! We started off in Oasis, had some Red Bull and vodka - Irene interviewed Kip for a nanny job…she passed with flying colours! Becci was Rudolph the Red Nosed girl for a while which was hilarious. Then we went onto Nippon where they didn’t let Dean in cause he had flip flops on, then let Irene in for free cause she kept arguing so much…eventually your man goes “Hey Irish, over here - quick”, so in she went! At the end of the night we managed to have a circle that we kept throwing guys into and making them dance…and sure they were only delighted to get a chance to show off their “breakdancing” skills! ... read more

Russell - So the day to leave Sydney has finally arrived! It was up early and time to pick up the van. We had arranged to pick up the van at 9am but I knew they opened at 8am so I was hoping for an early get away. First we had to get the train over to the suburb of Sydney and as I didn’t know what train line it was on we had to walk down to Central station to make sure. Of course much to Lins’ annoyance when we got there we found that it was on the airport line or to put it another way the line that stops outside our apartment door! We arrived at the hire place and despite the lights being off there was clearly people inside and a sign ... read more

Lucky got a promotion and which meant he had to exchange Melbourne for the big metropolis of Sydney. Before he left we couldn't resist having a party (any excuse!). It was also a leaving party for Sean and I as we were moving out of Union St to another place the other side of Chapel St.... read more

Hi there. This is a little sad as it is our last entry . We have had a great trip andmanaged to see over 34 countries. Weve seen amazing temples, natural features, old buildings, meet great people and had amazing food. Weve been on over 16 flights, over 50 ferrys, 1000s of buses and too many taxis, rick shaws , tuk tuks etc. 3 bikes and 2 mopeds and one Elephant. Every country was interesting but the stand outs were Italy,Thailand and Cambodia. Weve stayed at awesome hostels, beach bungelows, and the worst hotels on the planet ( Most in India !! ). I lost 10 kgs and have managed to learn how to cook Thai food, water ski and rock climb. Jo has enjoyed all that each country has had to offer as well as ... read more

So....after a year of organising and counting down, the time is nearly here. We leave tomorrow to start our journey of fun, marriage and many adventures. The past week or so has been very much a time of lasts; the last time I send an email as Kylie Pitman, the last time I sign my name as a Miss, the last time we see friends before we get married, the last time we see friends and family before they join us in Thailand for the big day, the last time I can cuddle Dex for a while (don't get me started on that!). But - we are getting very excited as the hours tick down. We are both packed, passports and tickets ready and most things checked off the To Do list which has been in ... read more

Hello again children, this week in Ians Blog we will be reading about Fraser Island, Goats, and not having Salmonella any more. I dont have Salmonella any more, went to Fraser Island, and grabbed a goat by the horns while a Portugeeser grabbed its legs, and a German milked it, and drank the milk. I have just arrived in Cairns, and went on a big night out with the guys off my bus, quite good, but I dont actually know any of them, so its hard to have a proper night out if you get me?!?!? Today Im going to look around, and go to the gym - theres a free gym in the hostel, and I havent been for about 7 months, last time I tried in Queenstown, I was so tired from walking up ... read more

After Surfers we headed to Byron Bay. It was much the same as Surfers to look at only a bit smaller. Surfing was the main hobby of everyone that lived here it seemed. Most of our days consisted of going to the beach and chilling out or throwing a frisbee about. On our first night in Byron we headed out with Chris (Marty's mate) and also the Germans who we done our Whitsundays trip with: Shereen, Frank, Walter, Pascal and Lukas. We ended up in Cheeky Monkeys, which was heaving and had everybody dancing on the tables. It was only fitting that being in Cheeky Monkeys they played some T'Arctic Monkeys Fromt Sheffield- Also played many other banging tunes and Dj Sets. On Sunday we went on a bit of a walk by the beach to ... read more

Australia. Not so bad when you get off the beaten track! After a fairly shit first few days downunder, it was finally time to go to the ranch. On the coach from Rainbow Beach to Gympie, I got my first real look at some of the Australian landscape. This to me is where the real appeal of the country is, if you come to Australia looking for culture and history, you would be sorely dissapointed. Obviously it is a realatively new nation, but the two-dimensional stereotype of the typical beer swillin', footie lovin' Aussie is scarily accurate !! The real draw is the natural beauty of the landscape, and I should get to see plenty of it working on ranches in the outback... On my arrival in Gympie I was met from the bus and taken ... read more
