Australia and Fiji

Our fabulous year-long adventure was born back in May with a flight from Edmonton to Sydney. After some huge delays, we finally got there. Since most of you will have already received some update info along the way by email or Facebook, we won't go into too much detail about things we've done thus far. But many of you have asked for more pictures, so we'll just put a bunch from our highlight reel here.



In short: Sydney down to Melbourne, then back up north to Cairns. Next was jungle time in Cape Tribulation, followed by beautiful Mission Beach and onward to Townsville where we cruised over to Magnetic Island. Diving on the Great Barrier Reef was next, after which we headed back down to Brisbane briefly and took a flight over to Fiji for 2 weeks. After that it was back to Australia to catch our flight up to Bangkok for stage 2: Thailand.

Vineyards
Melbourne wine tour. This was a rainy but interesting day of touring 5 of the many Yarrow Valley wineries. We finally learned our wine tasting etiquette! Just a nice tour in the stunning outskirts of Melbourne.

Hiring a car
We braved the backwards roads and hired a car to drive from Cairns to Townsville. And Marcey even sweet talked our way out of a speeding ticket!
