We were up and on the road early after stocking up on groceries and fuel.. the car drinks more than us. We were heading for Home Valley Station down the Gibb River Road. The drive in was mainly bitumen until we passed ElQuestro then it became rougher with our first water crossing. The Cockburn Ranges are magnificent. We arrived at our bush camp and it was hot. No power so we slept with all windows open. It gets dark at 6pm and it gets LIGHT at 5.30am. We became like the grey nomads and went to bed not long after sun down and we were up with sun up. Spent the days croc watching which paid off as we saw two in the river in front of us. Darn mozzies are blood thirsty here.
By our last day the grounds were starting to fill up with travellers, so we were glad to be on the road for the Bungle Bungles. At least there is air con in the car.
