Upon checking with library staff yesterday we determined that despite not actually having any silos, Katanning is definitely on the Silo Trail and displays its art as murals on a couple of buildings around the town. A good excuse to wander around the town CBD and have a coffee.

17kms out of the town we found Lake Ewlyamartup – a huge lake that is popular with kayakers, swimmers, jet ski enthusiasts etc. It has a good size picnic area and would make an ideal overnight camp spot; very peaceful and quiet.

Back in town we checked out the Lions Park – currently undergoing major redevelopment as an all abilities park it proudly flies the 20 or more flags of various community groups.

We will be travelling south to Albany tomorrow and because free camps are few and far between on the coast – high on the tourist routes – we have booked ahead for our next 3 destinations, this time staying in caravan parks.
