It was Sunday 31
stAugust and our four wheel drive club had a little trip, culminating at Karakin for a BBQ lunch and I so wanted to go, Caroline was worried that only just coming out of hospital it would be too much for me.
Andy and Karen Bayley were running a short trip heading off from Serpentine leading a group who were going to cross some of the dams in the local area and one of our other members, who I cannot honestly think who it was, was running a short morning wine tour, also leading a group of four wheel drives, doing some wine tasting in the local area.
Our buddies Peter and Leigh Walker, who are staying with us at the moment were going on Andy and Karen’s trip and were starting their day at the Pinjarra bakery, then pushing on to the meeting place in Serpentine, they left early and we didn’t hear them go as we had laid in, I was seriously fed up with being arrested by Caroline in not going.
Caroline is physically drained from our recent mini adventure, and It’s only fair that she paces

I can't really justify why I took a photo of a Burger herself, so I was happy that she had a lie in on Sunday morning to catch up.
I really wanted to go with Andy and Karen, they are really fun packed people, and as I really have no interest in wine, I was just looking forward to getting out with Caroline in the Landcruiser.
Caroline suggested that it would be too much of a big day for me and she wanted me to rest, I appreciated that Caroline was “Senior Constable of the Fun Police” and that my desires to go out with the gang had been arrested, but I know she has only my best intentions at heart.
Karakin is about a 1 hour drive from where we are currently living, and as Caroline was driving I just sat in the passenger seat and watched the world go by.
We arrived at around 12.15 and it was great to see some of our friends who were preparing the food for the members. I have to say, they made us feel very welcome and made a fuss of Caroline and I which was nice.
The
weather was gorgeous, and I went outside and had a bit of a walk about, there was an Emu sitting down in the sun and was not bothered that I was close by.
It was about half an hour before the Bayley group came in with about ten vehicles and soon after the other group (The wine tour) came in obviously they were all hungry. Everyone came in and suddenly the place just lit up with conversation, it was really great to be out.
After about an hour, I was feeling weary, and suggested to Caroline that it would be a good idea if we shot off as I was tired and was sure that it would be good if Caroline rested.
We got home at about 3.00 pm and both fell in to bed and soon we were fast asleep.
