Perth City
Taken from south of the river Our week around the Perth area.
Yippee! We have arrived in Perth WA!
Wow it’s so gorgeous here! Sun, sun, sun, everyday, coupled with Perfect endless beaches we really do feel like we have found paradise!
When we arrived here we felt great ‘cause due to our Singapore stopover, no jet lag! So after Auntie Pam picked us up, it was straight down to the beach to catch a golden West Australian sunset!
Tuesday we caught the train (which runs down the middle of the motorway) into the big city. We took one of those open top buses around the city and up to Kings park (the biggest city park in the world) and then caught the ferry across to the zoo.
Wednesday we spent the day catching waves at Scarborough (not the uk one!)
Thursday we went to the idyllic island of Rottnest. 45mins boat ride away from the coast. Spend the day cycling round and swimming in the perfect, turquoise bays.
Friday was spent driving around the Swan vally wine region, Caversham wild life park - meeting the locals (check out pics of me holding a wombat!) and Mundaring Weir.
Saturday Pam drove us down to Mandurah.
Bell Tower
I suppose every city has to have a millenium project but at least Perth's is still in use! Mandurah is about an hour south from Perth and I use to holiday there as a kid.
