Firstly, Ipswich…awful. Seeing Aunty Robyn and Michael was really good. But Ipswich itself isn’t the nicest of places. I stayed with Michael and Lynn whilst I was in Queensland in the house that Aunty Robyn actually grew up in.
Aunty Robyn lent me her ute so Michael and I drove in to Brisbane itself just to have a look around. Stupidly Michael had forgotten that parking was ridiculously expensive so for 2 hours parking it cost $40.
It was great to land in Perth knowing I was only an hour away from home. Terry picked me up from the airport (THANX TERRY!) and it was nice to see a face from home. Unfortunately I couldn’t go back to my house as Ben and Steph were house sitting, so I had to stay with Lynn and Keith (Terry’s friends). I did pop in to my house to see if my mask had arrived that I bought from the internet, because my box of stuff from the Czech Republic had still not arrived. Terry made sure that Ben and Steph were at her place for dinner, it was weird sneaking around my own house not wanting to disturb anything in case they noticed.
The mask was there and it was game on for Saturday night 😊.
Dinner was ready when I got there and Lynn fed me all the next day as well (THANX LYNN). The next day I just had to sit around as I didn’t want to be seen in public and ruin it, I did have to go to the shops to get Steph some flowers so Terry was advising me of all Steph’s movements so I could get around her 😄.
Saturday night was amazing!! Steph had no idea I was coming, not even an inkling. I drove in with Lynn and Keith, they went in first whilst I sat in the car and watched Aaron, Claire, Schaff and Kristy walk in. 2 minutes later I walked to the front door and Pete was waiting so he could direct me and he could get a good setup with the camera. I moved in to the building and stopped at the entrance, I could hear Steph and all my friends laughing and joking. It was so intense knowing what was about to happen. I stepped in and everyone facing my direction looked very quizzical, Steph turned around and knew it
was me straight way, the mask didn’t even help! She dropped what was in her hands, her mouth dropped open and the tears started flowing. She jumped on me and tore off my mask, it was awesome and the exact reaction I wanted. It looked like everybody that was there were just as shocked to see me. Aaron ran over and tore Steph off me to give me a giant hug, I was saying in his ear “Get off man. I’m here for Steph, you’re kind of ruining the moment”.
For the rest of the night I just socialised with everyone and caught up. After Steph’s party we went clubbing for a few hours and then headed home, to my own bed!
Conclusion of my home coming…it was amazing! I love that girl and I would fly to the moon and back for her. To be able to surprise her like that was just the greatest, I’m sure that she will never forget it and I know for sure that I won’t. It’s great to be home and know where I am, how to get to places I want to go to and to be able to be with
my friends and family again…happy days!
