Ready, set, go
By lunchtime all the jobs were done and we were just waiting around to get started! The end of term was full on and I recognised my need for a break. I knew I needed to recharge my batteries and get a bit of perspective away frome the classroom.
Early Good Friday, I nursed my end of term hangover with some Panadol and a 2.5 hr flight home. It was a good feeling flying into Perth, I was excited about seeing the farm for the first time in a year and I was ready to give my body a break from partying. I felt like I was skating on thin ice for a while and was more than happy to have a few quiet nights.
Mum picked me up and we drove the 2.5 hrs to the farm. Everyone was there and of course there was a good vibe immediately. Dad, Blue, Jarrad and Daniel had started drinking much earlier that morning but all the work had been done, and hey, it was a birthday! On Saturday night all the family, friends and blow-ins arrived for his 60th which was held in the very clean and awesomely decked out Shearing Shed. It was lots of fun and I loved sitting out by the fire listening

Invitiation for Perth fundraiser to all the yarns and watching Dad in his element.
The rest of the Easter weekend was spent in typical farm style, walking the dogs for swims the dams, sunset drinks on the rock and swatting the flies away. The weather was unusually warm and we were peeling off the layers by 10am each morning. It was a fantastic weekend and there is no wonder why I love it there so much.
On the middle weekend, with the help of my amazing Mum and sister, I held my first ever fundraiser and it was a HUGE success. We invited all our friends over for an afternoon tea. They donated the cost of what they would pay for the same thing at a cafe and we all benefitted. We got to catch up with lots of friends and my Derby school gets some extra classroom supplies and some extra $ towards their camp funds. I was gobsmacked by the generosity of my friends and family. I am deeply grateful to all who helped make it such a wonderful day.
The rest of the school holidays turned into a bit of a blurr. With a 2 day teacher workshop,
Jetty drinks
celebrting the end of Term 1 a zillion coffee, lunch, dinner or drinks catchups I was definitely well fed! It was lovely being here, but I often thought to myself that when I'm here, I'm only ever existing. I
live in Derby and that makes going back there so much easier. Of course there's heaps I miss out on but it's small fry in comparison to how much I get to do up there.
I'm a lucky girl to have so many places where i can go to relax, escape, chill out and feel deeply loved by all those who feed and nourish my soul. Looking back on my travels, I've have many holiday havens but Perth will always be the place where everything comes together and I get to be just me.
On that note: Here are my April holiday top ten.
