Unreal
not bad eh After the fun-filled Shanks Family Easter, we all parted ways, not before a few tears were shed.
Tash and I headed down to Lucky Bay where we knew there was a great spot that was only accessable via 4x4 track along sand dunes. Was the first 4x4ing we had done in Pat the Pathfinder so it was exciting to get into it. Other than a few close calls, Pat performed very well.
We found what we thought was a great place, but the wind quickly picked up and putting up the tent turned into an exercise in futility. Gave up after 2 broken poles and headed to find another spot. Found an awesome spot that was both sheltered and a stones throw from the beach. Stayed here for 2 nights, sharing with the local mouse population, and did plenty of surfing and snorkling and general laying around.
From here we headed a little south to check out Port Gregory which is a sleepy fishing town. Not a whole lot to do here, but nothing a few beers on the beach can't fix. Met a couple and their little kids at the caravan park, which was interesting. Great fun couple from
unnuts
inviting down near Busselton with some interesting conversation about how he used to be a male escort! First one I've met.
After staying the night there we decided to head up the coast and do the first of our touring north. Headed via Northampton where we discovered they were having their Heritage week. Saw some really old cars and even a working little steam engine. Well cool.
Got to Denham, Shark Bay, in the arvo after checking out a few touristy sights on the way.
