Some cities and towns are very famous, but while I doubt thet Gingin qualifies for that status, it is none the less a significant place for scientific research.
Gingin is the southern hemisphere location for a multidimensional array of radio telescopes studying gravity and gravity waves.
There is also a fun interactive discovery centre where gravity and magnetic forces interact.
There is also the leanin towere of Gingin - it leans about twice as far as the more famous leaning tower of Pizza. The family scrambled up to the top and then dropped their balloons full of water the 100 meters to the ground with spectacular results. The grand children suddenly lost their fear of heights and were off to get more balloons to do it again.
