Diary of Obligations

We have been house sitting for the last six months in Banjup on a fantastic 5 acre property, but today is the day we move out.
We both agree that it is difficult and hate the moving day as emotionally it is disruptive, but we know it has to be done, its not our house and the owners want it back and that’s fair enough.
We have a little advertisement in The Toyota Landcruiser club 4 wheel drive magazine and late last year, I think it was around November) the club had new members who approached us and asked us if we wold be prepared to sit their property whilst they were away travelling for six months and as we had space in our house sitting diary of obligations this house sit was booked in.
This is not the only sixth month house sit we have done as we did another great one in Greenfields, last year, that house sit was full of amazing personal adventures but we won’t dwell on that in this blog.
We moved in to John and Linda’s on the second of February and took
up residence, they wanted to make sure the house looked lived in and one thing we can do really well Is make a house looked lived in, seriously though, this house is in a pretty rural location and nowadays you cannot be too careful.
Like I said before it was a five acre block with a very large house and a large shed five bays wide, so Roobie had a nice place to live.
We checked with John and Linda if they minded us having guests over and they said they would be happy with that so we have been fairly busy entertaining our visitors whilst they were away and have a couple of fun dinner parties, the last one being the 4
th July for peter and Leigh walkers leaving party which was covered in our Blog called “Independence Day” published on the 11
th July.
What was great was the fact Peter and Leigh ( or the “kids”) as we call them have stayed with us for a week here and there in between their own house sits which was fun.
For the last five days of our residency in Banjup we progressively started packing our

Peter and Leigh Leaving us gear away and getting ready for the final departure and our target date was 25/07/2015.
I had got all the garden looking good a couple of weeks earlier with the lawns mowed, edges done, garden waste being deposited on the pile and generally everything was looking good.
We were up early yesterday, and had the last few bits and pieces to load in Jack the truck and Jill the car and we pulled Roobie out of the shed as today we would be heading off for a week at the Fremantle Village Caravan Park, where we have stayed previously before we move in to another house sit for two months on the first of August in Rockingham, for other members of our 4 wheel drive club
John and Jane who are heading to Botswana then to Europe and amazingly to Botley in Southampton our home town, how crazy is that, as I just wrote these words I had a twinge of home sickness that lasted only a second then it was gone, how good is that.John and Jane are pig farmers, not really, they are doctors, but they always tell everyone they are pig farmers as when

A random picture of Jack and Roobie they are travelling they want to leave their profession behind and enjoy their R & R, Though I do know that he would step up to the plate in a real situation, but the funny thing is when anyone asked them what thy do they just say pig farmers and that’s about the end of the conversation.
So like I said we move in next Saturday and in the mean time we will enjoy the freedom that Roobie affords us.
My apologies but we could not put up pictures of the house sit for security reasons so we had to just put up some random photo's
All the best
