Day 8 Cape Le Grand

Day 8
It rained at night, it was windy and it was freezing. It was so cold that my fingers hurt when I doing things around the camper. We had breakfast and headed straight to rocks on the right of the beach for a spot of fishing. The water looked so inviting for a snorkel except for the icy cold water. A man was snorkling looking for seahorses. Andre caught a wrasse. It was not a keeper and had to be thrown back. I didn’t get a single bite on my lures. I kept pulling up weeds. Andre & Linda kept getting bites but didn’t catch anything. They were using handlines and squid. After lunch we drove up to Rossiter Bay. It was a bird sanctuary. Once again spectacular views. There were rock islands dotted on the horizon. Clear waters and white sand again. We did a trek to the point to see the gulls congregating on the point. We then drove to Le Grand camp site. It was a nice camp site but the water had great swells. Just too dangerous for the kids. We saw a notice about beach driving. Another camper earlier told Andre that it was possible to drive on the beach all the way to Esperance. Linda was salivating at the thought of it. I don’t think there was any stopping her on driving on the beach. We then headed to Hellfire bay. It wasn’t a camp spot but had beautiful beach again with giant granite boulders at the point. We climbed the rocks and took in the scenery. At camp the kangaroos are very bold. They come right up to you looking for food. They even hiss at you if you shoo them off. Another early nite, we pretty much go to bed not long after the sun goes down each time but wake up early for early starts. Linda & Mary saw lightning but yet the sky was cloudless and the stars were bright.
