Whilst at Werribee South, Peter was suffering terrible toothache again, so visited another dentist. It was confirmed that his tooth was cracked vertically and definitely needed to come out. After a consultation with an oral surgeon he made an appointment in Geelong for the extraction for a couple of days after we finished work. To accommodate the post-operative check up a week later we decided to relocate to one of our favourite spots - Barwon Heads. More on that later..... On 14thJanuary we departed Mockinya to travel across to Werribee South for our first relief caravan park management assignment. On the way we travelled through Hamilton and Colac and had an overnight stop at Meredith Park on the northern shores of Lake Colac. My first day in Melbourne was spent just wondering around this great city. It's full of hidden laneways, street art, hundreds of cafes, trees wearing jumpers, a beautiful skyline, beaches, and the best blueberry muffin I have had in my life! I've become quite ... read more

Melbourne is a lively bustling city and is home to a number of grand old buildings mixed in alongside modern works of art. The only thing that ruins Melbourne for me is the ugly tram lines that literally take over the city. The trams are a really efficient way to get around town but they make crossing the road really quite scary! Having said that, the first thing we did was jump on the free city circuit (old-fashioned style) tram for a bit of sightseeing. We hopped off at the Fitzroy gardens to see the stone Yorkshire cottage (once belonging to Captain Cooks family) that had been transported over to Australia in pieces. Unfortunately the cottage had been vandalised the previous night and the staff were doing their best to hide the paint bombs and obscene ... read more
