After one last stop at Finn McCool’s for a couple pints and to cash in my gift certificate. I decided on a later start since I only had about 250 miles to deal with in route to Mildura. About 75 miles from Mildura I entered my 5th state/territory “Victoria”. I only have one remaining - The A.C.T. Australian Capital Territory which is pretty much made up entirely of the area encompassing the nations Capital (Canberra). Sort of like our District of Columbia. Canberra will be my final stop before returning to Sydney to greet my lovely bride and to hand off my bike. When I arrived in Adelaide you might recall it was 95 F. So, we're still in the sleepy town of Mildura, right on the border of New South Wales and Victoria. We've got a new job now working with a nice Citrus farmer called Steve, and his two labs, Indie and Bella. Our other job steadily got worse and worse as the days went on. In our last week there, we each earned a whopping 33 pounds sterling. Not very good considering that was after 6 days work, and that our rent alone is double that. So we now pick oranges when the weather is right. The oranges must be at least 9 degrees to pick, and you also can't pick them when they're wet as wet finger prints leave bruises on them, which don't show for like 2 weeks. Woohooo we have a new job! After coming back from work exhausted and still skint, the hostel owner finally found us a better job. We've joined 5 other folk picking oranges just up the road for a lovely Aussie farmer, Steve. (he also likes motorbikes, what a coincidence) Our first day I was up and full of porridge for our 8.15 depart from the hostel in the little minivan. On arrival at work, our team, now known as Team Scotland by everyone else was given a tractor with the empty bins and drove out to a wee area of grape vines, noooooooo!
