Had to go shopping for food again today as "the hunter & gatherer " has still not been successful in his twice daily fishing expeditions. Another great ride, through Ovens, Happy valley, Rosewhite, The pinnocles and down through Tawonga and the Gap to Wandilgong, then back to camp. There is a lot more traffic on the roads because of the weekend, but, it was still a very relaxing ride. We thought that, by staying in the same Caravan Park over the weekend would be preverable to travelling. Little did we know that our quiet area would be overun by very noisy, large families. Ignoring the grey clouds, we left on schedule, staying the night at Holbrook. Another great days ride through Wodanga and Myrtleford to Porepunkah. For those who don't know, Porepunkah is 6km from Bright. The Caravan Park was not entirely up to the self described opulence, so after 2 or 3 u turns on a main road, we arrived at the Top Tourist park on the river. Since its been over 2yrs since we erected our quarters, you can well imagine the "fun" we had, in 34 degrees heat, but eventually everything worked out, as per picture. We have ridden up to Mt Buffalo and toured the shops in Bright and of course spent a great deal of time in the swimming pool and trying to catch fish (I will let you work out who did what) ... read more

24/01/11 - 1/02/11 Can't believe our Tasmania leg of the trip is over.. It has been such a highlight of the trip so far. We saw a lot of Tassie but left plenty to see next time round (the glass is half full!) We spent the first few nights back in Victoria at Helen's home where we got to catch up with most of the family again which was great. Celebrated Oz Day (sort of), took Reef to the BMX track and caught up on some housekeeping (whatever that means :o)....). We then headed north as we needed to get back up to NSW to surprise dad for his 60th.
