2 french guys who were also couch surfing where Byron was for the first few nights Hello everyone!! Australia has been amazing so far and I’ve only been here for 2 weeks!! I’ve met so many cool people from all over the world. We got a campervan it’s a Mitsubishi express with a bed in back. I picked it up last Tuesday and drove it about 4 hours north to a festival called Maitreya in the middle of nowhere! I helped set up the fest which was really cool meeting many people, making friends and using creativity to make the festival happen. The fest was mainly psycadellic trance which I’ve never really listen to but its pretty fun to dance to. They call them doof fests (cause the music and bass is like doof doof doof) haha everything was great and the weather was perfect and Allie was arriving for the fest (we worked the fest so we got in free) then the rain came. There was record breaking rainfall and mud was everywhere!! It reminded me of Woodstock haha just mud people everywhere it was wet and muddy and I wish I took more pics! Ill try to get some on facebook. After the fest I helped cleanup a bit to make some extra cash and

the view from where Byron parks the van and hangs out during the week heaps of people left tons of gear. I got a brand new pop up tent and a huge like party tent for barbies and such .. like a canopy.
After one day of cleaning I was over it so I was ready to head back to Melbourne. So after a long day of picking up other peoples crap I offered this backpacker from Quebec Canada a ride to Melbourne we get about 3 hours away and decide to call it a night and crash at a rest stop.
Next day I drop him off at a hostel then head back for the Mornington peninsula hang out with Allie for a bit and I’ve just been relaxing all week and living on the beach in a public park (see pics for the view)
This weekend we went to the Black Seeds Concert which was AMAZING, probably the best show I’ve been to and we were front row!! After the show we crushed a whole pizza then went to bed. It’s so nice to walk to your van and just sleep in the back!
On Saturday we went to the Royal Botanical Garden in Melbourne, which was really nice they had heaps
of rainforest plants and a really sweet market.
It’s now Sunday night and tomorrow and Wednesday I’m working at the food and wine fest they pay pretty well down here but the have to seeing how gas is over $5 a gallon and a case of beer is $35-50!! So when I do drink its usually box wine which they call goon.
We’ll stay in touch and we will keep updating as much as possible the end of this month we are in for a treat we are going to work at the Apollo Bay Music Festival and on our way we are stopping by the Ripcurl pro surf competition at the famous Bells Beach and then off to Byron Bay which I have a feeling we will stay there for a bit and work and surf.
Cheers
Byron and Allie
