We’ve been living and making some money so we can venture on soon ☺ I still work at the marina making coffees and what not. I make so many I think about them in my sleep. Long black, cappuccino, latte, flat white, short black, macchiato, moccachino, muggachino, baby chino, hot chocolate, chai latte, extra hot, soy, skim, no foam, double shot, weak, caramel, cold milk on the side. There are a gazillion options I’m telling you! These people are serious about their coffee! But I am very glad to have the experience so I can get a job making coffees at other places! I work from 6:30 am to 2:30pm 5 days a week and I get 1 coffee and a free lunch everyday ☺ But I am very glad that I will be leaving ... read more

Hi all! Sorry we haven't been in contact with you lately. WE'VE LANDED JOBS!!!! Finally! We both got a job at the Emu beach resort and backpackers! we help clean the communal facilities in the mornings and the rooms. Byron will start doing some odd jobs around the place like driving the grey hound bus that they are associated with and whatever else they need a hand with. i am just doing a couple of hours a day there working for my accommodation ... we are given a room the size of a double bed and that's about it (except this week they have us in one of the resort rooms with its own bathroom and a king size bed, its pretty fancy pants). And then i got a job a Keppel Bay Marine and it ... read more

We stayed in Noosa for a bit, it was a busy town (especially on the weekends!) Byron counted over 50 people in the water at one point when we were out surfing!! (there was probably about 7 different points!) We went on a hike by the water there and got to spot some koalas! We also saw 2 snakes!! I jumped and screamed and deafened myself at the sight of both of them! I had never seen a wild snake on land before, not even a gardner snake!! One of the nights we decided to contact a lady on couchsurfing and we were able to park our van outside of their house for a night, they had another couchsurfer for Canada at their house at the time and they cooked a great meal for us all, ... read more

So we ended up staying at their girls place in the city for the rest of the weekend and next weekend. It was great to be able to shower and go pee and wash your hands whenever we wanted and use a fridge for food, finally we were able to get some CHEESE!!!! The entire week we spent looking for jobs, we had a few interviews and found a few jobs in the city. Byron found a job being a pedi-cab or rickshaw driver - haha! And I got a job with GreenPeace, which I had to turn down because we could not afford to live in the city and living out of our van in Brisbane didn’t seem like a great idea. So we headed up the Sunshine Coast to a town called Mooloolaba -- ... read more

Bluesfest (Easter long weekend): Bluesfest was out of this world awesome!! Except for the fact that volunteering meant we had to work for 5 hours each day! We got meal tickets and a t-shirt so that was a bonus. We saw Jack Johnson, Fat Freddys Drop, Tijuana Cartel, Donovan Frankenruiter, A.L.O. Animal Liberation Orchestra (check them out if you can download music or on Pandora), John Butler Trio, and much more!! We met some really cool people. One lady and her sister and husband and son who we are hopefully going to go and stay with later in the year - they were some true ozzies and they got us onto saying “totes” as in totally. It’s a long belly-achingly funny story. For the next week and a half we stayed in Byron Bay. We would ... read more

26th March ::: APOLLO BAY MUSIC FESTIVAL!!! I met some people on couchsurfing and we stayed in their driveway - apparent the music festival for this tiny town was much like coast guard for grand haven. Everyone who knows someone in the town came to stay and the place filled up and it was a great time! Byron and I volunteered for free tickets and had a ball. The next day we checked wristbands at this surf club that was really really slow so I decided to teach myself how to skateboard. Oh really allie? Not smart. Well I was doing fine until I got a bit confident and then tried to stop and hit a kerb (YES that is how they spell it here. Bah!) and I fell ad injured me elbow. Wouchers!!! the people ... read more

Hi guys!!! a bundle of new pics for ya!! This past weekend we went up to a spot called Daylesford, apparently its some sort of hippie nice little small town and common weekend get away for a lot of melbournians and well we didnt find too much to do there but camp and relax and it was perfect!!! we were told there were hot springs and water falls. However, the natural springs were all cold ones and the 'hot springs' you could go to were like spas/bathhouses that cost oodles more than our pocket books would have preferred. So we chose and free and secluded camp site and had a roaring fire and enjoying a whole lot of happiness together :) Amanda, Becky, and one of our Australian friends, Adam come along with us and we ... read more

Hello everyone!! Australia has been amazing so far and I’ve only been here for 2 weeks!! I’ve met so many cool people from all over the world. We got a campervan it’s a Mitsubishi express with a bed in back. I picked it up last Tuesday and drove it about 4 hours north to a festival called Maitreya in the middle of nowhere! I helped set up the fest which was really cool meeting many people, making friends and using creativity to make the festival happen. The fest was mainly psycadellic trance which I’ve never really listen to but its pretty fun to dance to. They call them doof fests (cause the music and bass is like doof doof doof) haha everything was great and the weather was perfect and Allie was arriving for the fest ... read more
