G'day Arrived on monday into sydney where i was supposed to have a 3 hour wait for my conncting flight down to melbourne - was delayed so ended up being 5 hours!! was all good though as they had a krispy kreme and mccds! Got there eventually and hopped on the coach down to where im staying in mt eliza. when i arrived at familys had a bbq which was cool, then went out and about looking at some sights, views over melbourne from arthurs seat were wicked (ill upload a pic) then went to the pub for a few drinks - all drinks like a jd and coke are pre mixed so proper weak!! went to a few other places like frankston (glorified redhill) haha and mornington which was cool The other night went to ... read more

Well, this is it, we’re homeward bound! After five very eventful months there are a few regrets that it is all coming to an end. We have circled the country except for 600 klms between Mt Isa and Three Ways (NT) in our rig. Both the car and the van have more than met our expectations. We plan to cover those 600 klms in 2011 when we are bound for Cooktown. BROKEN HILL The trip to Broken Hill from Hawker was a typical 420 klms day seeing us in for lunch. We crossed to the Barrier Highway and that became an easy and relatively flat road (even though through some mountain ranges). Hello everyone!! Australia has been amazing so far and I’ve only been here for 2 weeks!! I’ve met so many cool people from all over the world. We got a campervan it’s a Mitsubishi express with a bed in back. I picked it up last Tuesday and drove it about 4 hours north to a festival called Maitreya in the middle of nowhere! I helped set up the fest which was really cool meeting many people, making friends and using creativity to make the festival happen. The fest was mainly psycadellic trance which I’ve never really listen to but its pretty fun to dance to. Hiiii So I had another super fun weekend with Amanda the Canadian! We went to Mornington and saw a band and went for walks on the beach. I’m still helping out with the garage sale but luckily it is this Saturday so it will be over soon!!! I’m itchin to go surfing again!!! So lately when Chris leaves, and actually just about everyday, he gives me a list of things to do. I can never even complete the things on the list when he gives me a new one. I’m officially his slave and everyone thinks it’s ridiculous how much work I have to do when I am supposedly working 35 hours a week and how I should be getting paid more for the extra work. ANY how. Last Friday Jay had his orientation at school … Friday night we rented a movie and order some take-away Thai. Saturday I WENT SURRRRRRFFFFING!!!!! Ahhhh it was so lovely! I hadn’t been surfing in salt water in nearly 2 years!!! We first tried to go to Gunnamatta and the waves were CRAZY! Its where they hold a lot the surf competitions (there and Bells Beach on the Great Ocean Road) and its slightly frightening, but then we found a little beach with some 3-5 foot waves and im already planning on going there Saturday ☺ I met some Americans in the bottle shop and we invited them to join us at a bbq over at Chris’ brother and sister-in-laws house. So my weekend was SPLENDID !!!!!!!!! I took the train by myself back to the city and I met up with Reggie (my old professor) we were waiting for Kara and Kelsey (who didn’t get in to Melbourne until almost midnight because they were flying standby) so we had dinner on the Yarra river in the city. Reggie got us all a hotel room at the Langham - it was extravagant! I don’t know why anyone would spend that much on a hotel room but hey it was free for me. Once the girls got there we went to a pub across the street for some live music. Saturday I took them to St. Kilda to see the suburb, its located on the bay and has a really nice beach. Hello all, Sorry I haven’t updated this yet, I’ve been a bit busy and internet time is sort of scarce and not very cheap… so I wont be individually emailing everyone very much but you can see what im up to by checking out this website! So the trip was long but went well. The long flight was quite possibly the worst flight I had ever been on... the turbulence was EXTREME and I thought for certain we were going down and it was going to be all over the news, I prayed for 14 hours straight.
