Arrived in Australia to a blazing hot Melbourne heatwave during the annual Moomba watersports festival. Enjoyed the relaxed cafe culture listening to buskers in the sun, then watched some speedy wakeboarding and waterski competitors on the river, followed by a loud fireworks display and lively Mexican band playing late into the night. Met up with a friend from home and visited the iconic MCG for an excellent tour and museum visit (sport taken pretty seriously over here !), and ascended the Eureka Tower sky deck for highest viewing in the southern hemisphere, dwarfing the other skyscrapers with 360 views across the city. Hopped on a tram to St Kilda for some tasty seafood including chilli crab and walked along breakwater to watch little blue penguins swim ashore, and water-rats paddle in the harbour as dusk fell.

Hired a car to tour down the Great Ocean Road, staying at Bimbi Park in a Eucalyptus grove surrounded by very cute Koalas perched in the trees - see photos - and just avoided running over baby Koala ! Headed west for impressive vistas over the 12 (?) Apostles ocean stacks, London Bridge arch (half fallen-down after tourist-stranding collapse) and then walked down to

Amazing!
Wow, Mr Stephen, this must have been breathtaking! I love the darkness against the dark golden glow of the sun - well captured! Sending you a huge hug, and please can you send back some sunshine and warmer weather? Thank you ever so much - then I can be a teeny little bit less jealous! Blanka
