After a week of stay at my new home, named "The Beach", I have realized i am a bit lonely. The hostel is not quite how it looks. The location is perfect, right on the beach. Exactly what I wanted. As far as everything else is concerned, its not that great. The facilities are very meager, the hostel is virtually empty, all of the people staying here are quite a bit older than I, and are rarely seen. We are clearly not on the same page. There is also a very very posh lounge downstairs which is beautiful, but clearly not intended for the backpackers who are living upstairs. It seems to cater to the upper class, and has very loud music playing till all hours. So getting to sleep early is out of the question. Another problem is that there is nothing really near the hostel. All grocery stores, cafe's, and shopping, appears to be nowhere near it. There is no internet, so it is about a twenty minute walk to the internet cafe on fitzroy street. Im not sure how much longer I can stay here. I still havn't met anyone interesting except Kyle, who lives nowhere near here! Thank god my friend Nikki is coming here to visit for a month from the Gold Coast. Three days till she arrives. Nice to be here, but this hostel sucks!!!
