What a nice week I have !No job yet, still a bit bored I realised this week it was the first time in 2 years I am off for such a long time so maybe that's why I am bored but anyway I keep looking for a job though I am a bit desesperate now, still thinking about what to do, really love Melbourne and I don't want to leave.
On Monday evening, Sharon, Jay and I went to Flagstaff Gardens to eat our sushi. Lovely sunset lovely company and I discovered a new sport called the freeboard which basically a bit like the Snow Board but obviously without snow. Looks cool but the board is a bit expensive around $400.00 so this can wait. It was such a nice evening we decided to go to the Pub, my first pub in Melbourne yay! Nice one but crowded a bit weird on a Monday after investigating we've found out most of the people in the pub were schoolies a bit too young for us so we headed to the Yarra to take a walk. Then Sharon had a bright idea: to bring us to a kiwi pub there was one
Sunset
Over Flagstaff Gardens in South Melbourne, a bit of a walk to get there but she told us is a nice place. So here we are walking on City Road (My ex Ascott Colleagues: made me think about St Marks lol) after a while Sharon told us it shouldn't be that far, fine we carry on walking until she admits defeat and actually doesn't know where it is! Nevermind at least we saw a bit of Melbourne by night. Then we were heading to a tram station when we saw the crowne casino, we had a look at it didn't play money though and walked through it and check all the nice shops Versace, Dolce and Gabbana then we went out and we realised we were right where we started next to the Yarra River, don't know how we did this though. It was a lovely evening and on our way back a girl almost got arrested cus she begged us for money just next to a policeman and begging is forbidden here. The girl was quite young and looked very high wonder if her parents knew where she was probably not.
The day after not much but I tasted a Spicy Chocolate
at a Chocolate bar and it was very very yummy!! Then I bought some flip flops, the one I had are nice but I have the mark of them on my feet and it doesn't look good at all. We went to Myer, the big shopping a bit like Selfridges and it is so huge!! We tried all the perfume and the ones of the Beckhams are very good actually got surprised by that. Don't bother trying the one from Mariah Carey though it stinks!! Then we all had a nap and watched some movies watched the Talented Mr Ripley with Matt Damon, really liked this movie, never seen it before. Gwyneth Paltrow was crap though as always.
Wednesday we went guess where?? To the market of course!! There is a night market every wednesday and it was lovely it's not like the day one. Many families came to see the bands playing salsa and african music and there was some food/drink stands, all type of food and drinks, made me think about some village parties they have in France. They are selling many clothes, bags, jewels there were even some fortune tellers!! Can read the Tarots myself thank
you very much so won't try that. And I bought something, a very nice skirt, will ask Sharon to take a picture of me with it so you can see it, it's a lovely one! I know it is just a skirt but got very excited when I bought it!
On Thursday I had an interview for a temp agency, they accepted me and I had to some tests with Word got a intermediate/advanced level which surprised me and then a typing skill, can type 51words per minute and without training with an english keyboard for a while as my laptop has a french keyboard, very proud of myself!
When I came back to the room Sharon was there and we chatted and we realised it was too early to go to bed and as the night was warm we decided to take a walk it was 10.30pm and then we came back at 1.15am. We went to the Yarra River, in between took pictures which I included in this blog and talked about everything; took pictures of the X.Mas Tree and some stuff around the city then we went back to the Crowne Casino and took a walk
through the Alexandra Gardens looking for possums there are many possums in the city and we saw a few of them, even a young one. That one was quite curious and funny, then we heard an angry one and it screams are quite scary like it really wants to kill you!!!
We headed back to Federation Square and then we saw the rehearsal of the Show they are going to perform on Saturday for the Avent Calendar (not sure if the word is Avent or Aven or something else sorry ! the calendar before X.mas) it was a nice one and they had some technical problems at one point the projector system didn't work Windows system kicked the whole thing out so they had to restart the computer made me think about the stupid system in London Michael knows what I am talking about (systeme de .....) we saw it until the end and it was nice then we finally headed back to the room.
I felt like a real local yesterday taking the tram and the overground train, I got very excited about this when I headed to Williamstown yesterday, I'm excited for anything anyway just like
X.mas lights2
Flinders Street Station in the background a child discovering the world.
Williamstown is a suburb in the Southwest of Melbourne there is not much over there, it's just a quiet suburb by the sea with nice views of the city though and as you can see by the picture of the Train Station it's not a very busy place but it was good to be by the sea and the water was quite warm actually.
Then St Kilda, before giving my opinion about this suburb I have heard many things about this suburb, many hippies, drug addicts live there but this place is very popular with the backpackers. So I was thinking this place might be a bit overated and I think it is I mean it's very nice suburb, very busy, very lively with lots of pubs, the beach of course and I wouldn't mind living there but it's not the BEST place of Melbourne.
Took a walk around the beach, went to the pier, the views of the city of nicer than in Williamstown stayed there until the sunset then headed back to the City. The city was very busy being Saturday evening and on Bourke Street there was this guys dressed
as a robot and singing, he scared more the kids than anything else! Poor them!
Right that's it for my week, hope you had a fantastic one!
