This is the skyline of Melbourne (and Lukie) from the Docklands.
We spent an afternoon at the Melbourne Docklands.

It used to be commercial shipping area but has been turned into upmarket residential apartments. The Telstra dome is there too.

I found it quite deserted, and it was almost a relief to get back to the Melbourne city area, which is full of people any time of the week.

They are building the Melbourne Eye in the Docklands - a competition to the London Eye.

It seems strangely placed though, wedged between the highway, rail yards and the back of apartment buildings. The photo shows you where they are up to in building it - will take another year or so to be operational.

Other than that, the Melbourne Docklands has eerie statues and architecture, a nice playground and a row of restaurants.
