G'DAY, Mate! HOW YOU GOIN"?
So I'm here! I'm down under in the land of bouncing kangaroos and cuddly koalas. 16 hours time difference from back home; Its like I'm in the future!
I left home bright and early Tuesday morning on November 2nd just to fly an 1 1/2 hours to Chicago for a ten hour layover! Believe it or not time flew by with waking up from my midday naps to being surrounded by American Army troopers, family conference calls after family conference calls and doing laps of the HUGE Chicago airport. Now, I have a map where I put a pin in all of the cities I've been. I know I wasn't "technically" Chicago... but does my 10 hours count for anything??
When I landed in Melbourne I manged to figure out the bus into the city and how to "tram" (city cars) to my new home. I was SO GOOD, in fact, I arrived two and a half hours before my room mates got home! My trip lasted over 48 hours to get here: my clothes smelt (forgot to put deodorant on till half way), my teeth were fuzzy and i
was exhausted BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT.
Ive adjusted to the time difference well, but its not too surprising because as most of us know Brianna can nap any time, any place.
I spent the couple days trying to get everything organized and getting us to the city. Im really lucky that my friend Trish is good with making healthy meals (she lets me even help sometimes!), so Ive been eating well. We went to St Kilda's beach on Saturday for the first beautiful day they have had in a long time. Trish joked that St Kilda's is the Dow's Lake of Melbourne when we saw people swimming in it and a bride/groom taking pictures by the water. On Sunday we went to the local market to pick up some veggies and fruit, as well to scout out some Aussie souvenirs.
Monday I hit (is that the past tense?) the streets looking for a job, which was hard. Mostly because job hunting just plain sucks. I got a few leads and in fact I went to my first call back this morning and it looks like I'm going to stick with it (since I spent 5
hours working today). My next shift is tomorrow at 530. They cant give me my full schedule until i have a phone number that they can call to cut me if needed, so I am working on that as well.
Tomorrow, Im venturing off to find some more black clothing to work in, getting a key made..... and something else but I cant remember.
Anyways, Trish and I have our treats set up (a mango, watermelon, strawberry, cookie and candy platter) for our shows tonight! (Lucky we have the same tv and eating habits, eh?)
ps heres the website for where I worked today.
I feel safe telling you, FAMILY, this because i know NONE you can show up 😊

Smelly arm pits and fuzzy teeth, I am very proud of you. Just learn the menu and figure out what your customers are saying and then you are all set.
