We have settled into our accommodation at Boningale Manor and we are slowly getting into a routine. The cottage is very comfortable and the surrounds are quite and full of wild life. Our nearest village with shops is Albrighton and it is approx. a 50 minute walk from the cottage (we have no car and there is no bus to the village). The village is very friendly and has all that we need in regards to shops, post office, bank, public phone and a library which we have joined in order to borrow books and also use the free internet. We share the cottage grounds with ducks, chickens, and a variety of birds. Bob the owner of the Manor has provided us with fresh eggs and also milk, which is delivered for the B ... read more

After saying our farewells to June & Tony our journey began on the 10.15am Traralgon to Melbourne train, which was a free trip thanks to our senior card free rail passes. We arrived at Southern Cross at approx. 12.30pm and boarded the Sky bus for Melbourne International Airport. As per usual we were early but this gave us time to eat our lunch and have a coffee. After checking In we headed through customs and immigration to wait for our Emirates flight to Dubai via Singapore which was a great flight except for the 16 hours, 14 of those on the plane. We had 5 hours to wait for our flight from Dubai to London but it was worth the wait as we flew on the new A380, wow what a plane so big, so comfortable ... read more

The final week in Australia arrived and we were finally preparing to head off to the UK. Since God first spoke to us in October 2012 the 2ndSeptember seemed so far away but now all of a sudden here it was. Sunday 25th August – We again attended the 8.30am service at St James. The service was led by retired Clem Watts whom we had briefly met last week and it was a great feeling when he said hello and remembered our names, even more special when he used our names during Holy Communion. Clem gave a great sermon and in one of those God-instances part of Clem’s sermon was on a topic we had talked about over breakfast – guess we must be learning something. Monday 26th August – We again ... read more

During our 'Journey of Faith' we will visit as many churches as is possible, even though when we are in the UK we will be at Albrighton for 6 months, we will, whenever we are out and about attend church services wherever we may be. Sunday 11th August - We attended St James Anglican church in Grey Street Traralgon. A nice modern church where services are held at 8.30am 'Sung Eucharist' followed by a 10.00am 'Family Worship' (inclusive of Holy Communion), we attended the 10.00am service. The current Rector, Canon Jeff Richardson is away on leave so the services were conducted by Canon Gordon Cooper who is retired from Bairnsdale. Gordon is a cross between Bob Collie & Alex and the service was reverent but amusing, a Holy Trinity type service with many changes to the ... read more

Our car and caravan will be stored at June & Tony's in Traralgon for the 6 months we are in the UK. Tony had identified a spot near the carport however this required the removal of four trees, two thin trees and two larger trees. So on Saturday 10th August we rolled up our sleeves and got to work. First Tony cut down the branches and then the trunks of the trees. The branches were dragged to a bonfire pile on the Reality church property next door. The wood that could be burnt was cut up and placed on a pile of wood that dries before being placed in the wood shed. Next came the removal of the stumps, digging around the base and cutting roots before attaching by chain to the ute and pulling them ... read more

On Sunday 4th August we were privileged to organise and lead the 10.00am service at Holy Trinity, this being our last service before heading off to the UK. We started by attending the 8.00am communion service, which is always special, then the monthly parish breakfast organised by Sandra & Greg Gould, plenty to eat. We organised the service around what our congregational family at Holy Trinity had taught us over the past 4 1/2 years, not just about ministry life with bible readings, prayer and studies but about living a christian life, being will in to give yourself completely to Christ. We, and we think all the congregation, enjoyed the service including the range of songs we had chosen. It was a very special way to say farewell to people who took us in when we ... read more

Ken Harman has a niece who is a Curate at a Church in Liverpool England and a couple of weeks ago on the Church facebook page she had this quote "If you want to make God laugh - Tell Him your plans" How right she is as we have had a roller coaster couple of weeks - But lets start at the beginning. Thursday 18th July - We started by heading to Sydney and stayed at the Amora Jamison in the Sydney CBD. That night we attended a retirement farewell function at the O Bar level 47 in the Post Office Tower building, this is the site of the old revolving restaurant. It was a great night and we had time to catch up with many C Smart people who work off site and also a ... read more

Well we have now moved the caravan from the caravan park in Hastings to Ken & Joan Richardson's. Ken & Joan have headed off to the UK for a couple of months and we will be property sitting for 3 or 4 weeks. We woke this morning to the sounds of birds, kookaburras singing and the very rare sound of the "Reversing Australian Fork Lift" plus we experienced an unusual aroma as Debco potting mix filled the air - an altogether strange and mixed environment, but one we know we will enjoy......................................... NOW THAT WE HAVE YOUR ATTENTION- On Sunday 7th July 2013 we were privileged to spend the afternoon with Dr Sunil Anand M.D who is the current Director for India at 'The Leprosy Mission' (TLM) and his wife Dr. Shyamala who is the current Head - Monitoring & Evaluation at TLM India. Sunil & Shyamala were in Australia for TLM meetings and took some time to visit Holy Trinity where they attended the 9.30 service and Sunil spoke about his involvement in TLM and also spoke about God sending people out to do his work - getting us all out of our comfort zone. After a great lunch at pelican park we took Sunil & Shyamala to the Moonlit Sanctuary in Pearcedale where despite heavy rain they enjoyed seeing the Aussie icons of Koalas an Kangaroos ... read more

We have an update on what has now become know as the 'Pumpkin to Porridge'fee, thank you Alex. On the 2nd July Yusufu Mkunda from Msalato Theological College in Dodoma advised us that the US$1,600 transferred via Holy Trinity had been received and converted to TZS 2,509,494.75 and that the college had ordered the maize and other requirements for the children's porridge. So all the children at the kindergarten will now receive a daily serve of porridge every kindergarten day for the next 12 months - God has blessed us all by giving us the means to support these children. Romans 12:5-8 So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is ... read more
