Battery Point's name refers in to a battery of cannons located there to protect the Hobart coastline. We walked most of Battery Point on two walks, once as a couple and once with friends. There are many historic buildings and homes to see but do not miss Arthur's Circus. The cottages surrounding the village green of Arthur Circus were constructed for the officers of the garrison. Point is full of early Australian architecture. It's a little hilly, but well worth the visit to view some of the traditional housing of Hobart. On our walk through the historic Battery Point Pat and I checked out the menu at Alexanders in the historic hotel, Lenna. It enticed us to make reservations for dinner that night. It was a good decision as we had an excellent meal there. Our server was Ronald Gaynor. He was very knowledgable and efficient. We ordered bread with excellent olive oil for 2.50AUD. Pat had an average beetroot Tart entree at 15AUD, while I had an outstanding boned Quail entree at 18AUD. The salmon main at 32AUD was average. The backs strap of lamb with barley in a great demi-glace sauce, and asparagus was outstanding at 37.50AUD. We drank
