The BIG Orange
Gee He lifted it but it wouldn't fit in the Caravan
We headed off on a tour of the local region and found ourselves in the Berri wine tasting centre, this is the largest winery in the Southern hemisphere, (according the spiel guy)
We decided to taste a couple and chose some Chardonnay for Rick and also Karon chose a Rose, Yep look out she might join Rick on a real ( “Pretend” ) wine o’clock, instead of Pepsi max.
We then took a tour up to Renwick and a loop around the sights there and back to find the BIG Orange!. Well as a tourist attraction it is closed but we managed a couple of photos, and a trip into the Berri Store, that once was run by the “Berri” Company, is now a simple retail site with various fruits and juices available by the carton. A little sad that the Berri Juice conglomerate has not picked up the Big Orange and continued the outlet site, we felt.
We trekked down to Loxton and had lunch there and a look around, the whole country side is dedicated to farming in one form or another, with olive trees, fruit trees and lots of grape vines. Also a lot of
No Longer a tourist attraction
Even the sign is no longer upright
“tennis balls” (Karon’s option) in the paddocks or un harvested potatoes (Rick’s guess)
Our discussion still goes on about the growth of tennis balls.
Back home to listen to the long weekend holiday crowd enjoy the park.
