Day 4 2/8/2009 Tibooburra to Marree
Long day on the road today as we tried to catch up lost time but as it turned out there was not a lot to stop and see.
Tibooburra to Cameron Corner was mad with continual mountainous woops but the track itself was in good condition but the closer we got to Cameron Corner the sandier the track became with some sections quiet deep.
Fuel was $2 per litre - ouch! We stopped and had lunch - nice food, nice people. The toilet block gave us a laugh, old and very well used with ply wood flooring with not much wood left and toilet fittings at weird angles.
Took some pics, at the corner post, with our hand in three states at the same time. At this post is where NSW, QLD and SA meet.
Cameron Corner to Lynhurst is the start of the Strzelecki Track. Up to Merty Merty the track changed from open and in good condition to fairly tight, twisty and lots of sand. From Merty Merty you turn left and head south still on the Strzelecki, this had major works done and was in very good condition. As we got closer

The ever changing landscape between tibooburra and Wanaaring
to the Flinders Rangers and heading North West again the road deteriated and was hard work with lots of sharp loose gibbers.
Lynhurst consisted of a Pub with the campground out back. Due to this we decided to continue on to Marree where there were three campgrounds.
On arrival at the campground we found we had our first slow puncture. After the tired was plugged the pressures were checked only to find that tire gauge at the last servo was about 15 psi over and that we had been running the back tires at over 60 psi - dumb dumb dumb - do not trust servo gauges!!!!

Even though the Landscape is barron it has a natural beauty. The Flinders Ranges can be seen in the back ground
