Campsite at Bourke - whoops caught in my PJs
Day 3 1/8/2009 Bourke to Tibooburra
Bourke to Wanaaring was the first real start of the dirt tracks. Very wide and in pretty good condition. The track was a mixture of sand and road base.
Wanaaring to Tibooburra was very rough with huge gibbers from plums to grapefruit in size. The closer we got to Tibooburra the bigger the rocks became. In Tibooburra itself the landscape was pretty much all granite boulders.
We camped at Dead Horse Gully, Sturt National Park. Fees, $5 per head, was paid by honour system which made we wonder how many campers actually paid!
Tomorrow will be a big day on the road with almost 600kms to cover. We are heading down the Strzelecki Track aiming for either Lynhurst or Marree.
