Snowtown Bank
This is the building in Snowtown that became famous because of some barrels. Hi again, We are tonight somewhere between Port Augusta and Port Lincoln in South Australia, its very deserty looking. We are staying at a free camping spot that is quite near the Army training area, which seems to be huge.
The last 3 nights we stayed in Adelaide at a caravan park on the ocean at Semaphore (spelled something like that, oh and please forgive my spelling, I am usually in a rush and this site does not put red lines under words spelled wrong, nor does it have spell check). Adelaide was quite nice very historic with old sandstone buildings and houses, and beautiful little historic suburbs/towns in the Adelaide hills which look very Englishy.
The caravan park was quite nice, there were little bunnies running around of different colours there was black ones, white ones, grey ones etc, they were soooo cute!! Nathan and I were handfeeding them bread every day. A little shiny black one was my favourite, it would follow us from where ever it saw us back to our van. It would even let me pat it, I sooo wanted to take it home.
Just near the caravan park was about 10k of
Windfarm propeller
A Windfarm propeller, it was 44 metres long! That is Nathan standing in front of it. esplanade with a walking/bike track, Nathan and I went for a long ride on our bikes, it was really nice, it had a sunshine coast sort of feel but with a lot less people.
We bought a day train ticket and caught a train into the city, looking around Rundle Mall, which looked similar to Queen Street mall in Brizzy and then caught a tram to Glen Elg the historic beach suburb. Glen Elg you can see would be very touristy in the summer but we probably liked Semaphore better.
Today we have traveled from Adelaide through to about 40k's past Port Augusta, down the Eyre Peninsula. We stopped for lunch at Snow Town (will add photo of the famous bank later). The town does not seem too populated with many buildings shut up, where shops once had been. They also had a propellor from a wind generator from a windfarm, it was huge, about 44 metres long (will add photo later).
Other than that the trip to Port Augusta is quite boring other than the view of the Flinders Ranges to the right, they were pretty to look at.
I promised in my last blog to
Black Bunny
the cute lil black bunny I wanted to take home..... tell you about Robe, wow it was gorgeous, probably my second favourite place after Warrnambool (mainly cause better shopping). Robe is a historic town set between a water inlet and the ocean. The main street is really pretty, with all the original stone buildings used for the current shops/coffee shops etc, but driving further through there are many newer homes, and mansions etc over looking the water. Nathan was told it is very packed during summer.
Well time to tidy up from dinner, we had pizza tonight cooked in the caravan oven. Will add some photos in the next few days.
