Crocs Rule
what you don't see is me wrestling with the crocs a minute later lol! Hello, olla, bonjour and yegshemsh to all my family, friends and any random people having a read of my blog.
As most of you know, i'm staying in Adelaide at the moment and have being for the last two months. I'm staying with my cousin Jen and her boyfriend Richard in a really nice area of Adelaide called West beach. As you can tell by the name of the place i'm basically living a stroll away from a very nice beach and the weathers being great so theirs being a fair bit of time spent on the beach, What a hard life hey!!
Well I finally got my arse into gear this week and went out and bought a camera, something I should of done as soon as I got here really. So at last I can get some pictures up on here and show you all what i've being up to.
I've being a pretty busy man since i've being in Adelaide working at various events at the Adelaide showground. The first event I did was a huge music concert called the big day out, and believe me it was a big day. I worked from 6
Glenelg Beach
Lifes a beach, well at least for now in the morning until just gone midnight as a bar runner (basically the guy who runs around all day doing the heavy lifting work). So as you can imagine i was probably the most tired i've ever being in my life and to make it that bit longer me and Jennifer arrived home at about 12:30 only to realise that Richard had the gate key for they apartments, so back to the show ground it was, what a nightmare. It was then up the next morning for the big clean up job, the day after I slept nearly all day.
I've also worked at a motorcross event which was top class, to see a man do a full backflip on a motorbike in mid air is quite an experience. Finally I worked at a caravan & camping expo which was far bigger than I thought it was going to be, jeez these people love their camping. All the people looked exactly the same, old, cowboy hat, checked shirt, shorts up near their nipples and moaning about everything in sight.
So that was work but i've also being having plenty of fun. I've being on more nights out than is
The sunset
The sunset is absolutely beautiful every night of the week healthy, split between nights in the city and nights out in Glenelg. A place called the Grand in Glenelg has kind of become my local watering hole, but it hasn't got a patch on the bosun. One thing i couldn't believe in the bars out here was the total lack of Fosters. Which is suppost to be ozzies famous lager. Everyone here tells me nobody drinks it in the whole of Australia so it must be just a myth from the Crocadile Dundee films. I also managed to get to the Australia v England one dayer in which we got completely hammered all out for 110. The ozzies were quite amused when I started singing "were s**t and we no we are". It didn't really matter about the result though I had a great day with the barmy army which turned into a great night out round the city with them all. One thing about the Australian sports fans is there very americanised haven't got a clue how to start a song off.
I went to a football playoff match between Adelaide and Newcastle, and they was more English their than Australians, people must have being desperately missing there football
The beach babe
Welcome to Australia fix. I also went and checked out this Aussie Rules melarky. Went to a derby match between Port Adelaide Power(who I backed because they sounded cool) v Adelaide crows(what a boring name). The power won by about 5 points i think, I spent 3 quarters of the game in the bar.
One of the highlights of the trip so far occured they other day at the showground. I was walking with Jen telling her about how I haven't seen a kangaroo since i've being here when I look up and see a women carrying a baby joey kangaroo, well what a surprise that was. The next thing i'm getting photos holding the joey's, possums and lizards. They were a wildlife rescue company who was setting up a stall at the show for a day, and when I told them I hadn't seen a kangaroo yet they allowed me around the back to get photos holding they animals, great success!
I'm now planning on starting my backpacking around oz, I should be leaving next week sometime. Probably going to Ayers Rock from here. I'll keep you all updated.
Well that was my first blog hope you enjoyed it!
