A cool caterpillar Amanda and I saw in Rockhampton on Wednesday.

Daniele woke us up this morning at 6 and said that he will be staying behind while the rest of us go out on the water. The crew and I got everything ready then headed down to the marina. At the marina, the man that owns the fuel station told us that it was at least 20knots outside the bay and that it would be rough sailing for such a small vessel. Though I believed what he was saying, I still wanted to hear Daniele’s opinion. We got down to the boat ramp and called him up, and he said to trust the locals and turn home! For a few hours we loafed around the house, then Daniele said he had to go to Rockhampton for a few hours. Amanda and I decided to tag along, and at 3 we dropped him off at the local Uni while Amanda and I walked through the public gardens, went to the mall and then the zoo. The gardens weren’t that amazing, but the zoo was awesome! For a free zoo it was pretty decent sized. There were the same animals as Cooberrie Park, yet this time there were

more, in better areas and more spread out. There was also a chimpanzee exhibit and an aviary. After a while we went back to pick up Daniele then headed home. At the house I took a nap, then out of no where Daniele started screaming that he got his funding. This is actually a really amazing thing and now we can move on with some of the projects he has in mind. For the next week or more we will be off the water and while it’s nice to have a break we have tons of computer work to do.

It was more computer work to be done today, but around 12 Amanda and I needed to get outside. Daniele went to print out his thesis for a last revision and he dropped Amanda and I off at the marina. We did a small hike one of the hills overlooking the marina then walked the rest of the way back. It was a nice walk, but by the time we got back at 5 I was pretty exhausted. After a small nap, we had dinner, watched a bit of tv then headed back to bed.

Today was another day stuck inside doing computer work. Daniele and I were going over his PhD for a while, doing some last minute checking and he brought it to be printed for the last time! Today is his last night before he flies out for the conference, so we are heading out to pizza later on. I am not a big pizza fan, but I guess I can suffer through it. After checking the weather for the upcoming week it looks like we won't be going out until at least the 28th. Hopefully that changes, but seeing the palm trees in the front yard almost sideways today was not a comforting sign.

The rock close to the water is awesome looking and seems to have some sort of iron ore running through it.

A strange shell I can't seem to identify. Odly enough, it wasn't the only one there.
