Vale View - Day 2

Stayed at a free camp at Vale View called Federation Park.

The day of the new adventure.

This morning involved lots of last minute packing, cleaning up of the in-laws house (so they didn’t return to mess from their holiday) and that ever present question… what did we forget?

After deciding we had everything (how foolish were we) and that it was time to leave, Ryan drove out onto the road and attached the weight distribution bars… aren’t they an amazing thing… hopefully I can upload pictures to show the difference they make.

We were on the road around 10am and heading for Toowoomba. Yep, we were travelling a huge distance from Brisbane. The one caravan park in TBar that accepts dogs was fully booked, so it looked like our first night was going to involve free camping.

A quick pit stop for lunch at Sundowner Pies (yum!) and we arrived in TBar with the goal of buying food and heading on to Cambooya to the free camp we’d picked… if only the free camp had been in Cambooya.

The free camp was actually in Vale View and was a really lovely spot. Even the locals that rocked up for dinner / drinks / a catch-up in

Very low in the back end
the park only stayed an hour. Very windy though and I woke quite a few times wondering if our caravan or awning was going to fall over.

A few things we learned today:
• We forgot stuff
• We can’t make the TV work… oh the horror
• Our GPS unit won’t accept GPS points and give you directions… this could cause arguments… especially after I sent us 20+ km’s too far today
• I should have packed more than one jumper, winter pjs and tracksuit pants

Tomorrow we move on, possibly to Leyburn.
