13th December, DF make it to Brisbane or if you are called Luke, Scott or Mikey 'Brissie' 😊 A lovely City, and we were blessd with sunshine. One day was enough for us however as the place was extremely expensive (I mean $11 dollars for 1/2 an hours parking. For my English friends this is around 8 pounds for 1/2 an hour!) The expense still didn't stop us on the food fronts - we invested in a lovely Subway and hit the road .... Can I just confess, this keyboard is ultra s*%t - so sorry for the spelling errors!

16:00 and we got back on the road and headed for the signs which read the 'gold coast'. This is what we've all been looking forward to for a while now, and surfers paradise, our first stop on the gold coast did not dissapoint. For most people, Surfers is a place where you party unil stupid o'clock, wake up, and do it all over again! With a strict budget we made an executive decision and saved that wild prty zone for Byron Bay ... So our first day on surfers meant a beach day where we attempted to surf all day ... followed by a $40 car parking fine! Fantastic! With a strict budget and beach camp sites being so expensive due to peak season - we opted against paying for a camp site this evening and instead cooked cold noodles in a secluded car park, where we spent the night ... Don't worry mum, the public toliets near by had a cold sower - I treated this my en suite 😊

Day 2 on Surfers we went to Wet 'n' Wild Water World - Australia's largest Australian water theme park. A great day after a shocking nights sleep it must be said! As we left, due to an electrical storm - The Truth, our van, decided to give up the ghost. We managed to get him home (all be it our lovely 5* car park) where the R.A.C declared The Truth will be unable to get us to Sydney! 😞 Drawing short straws, Mikey went back to Brisbane to pick us up a new van whilst me and Scott decided enough was enough and managed to blag our way into a health spa - spending a couple hours in the sauna, steam room and jaquzzi..... superb! The hair even got treated with some conditioner!

Day 3, December 16/17th, we managed to have a look around SP' town whilst waching The Ashes in an Ozzy bar with a cold pint at mid-day. Heaven or what?! We also had time to invest in a Mcdonalds '$5 dollar feed' (medium fries and coke, a burger, and a chocolate sunday!) before heading to Byron Bay.

P.S Dear Mum, Dad and everyone else who cares for me. I have been researching and approximately only 1 shark fatality a year happens in Australia. Similar statistics apply for Croc's and snakes. Jelly Fish do better where they kill two a year (yet I am still 100 times more likely to drown than to be killed by one of these creatures). Hopefully this stops you worrying!! So all being well - see you on the 28th February, 2011 xxx
