My first official "sight-seeing" day was to the Sunshine Coast, about an hour from home-base.

First stop was the Eumundi Market, a colourful, bustling spot, showcasing a kaleidescope of offerings produced by local artists and artisans - sights, sounds and smells confirming that I am, indeed, far from Portneuf, Quebec. (Actually, the lack of snow was an instant tip-off.)

Aboriginal art was on the menu:

And of course, something for the doggies:

Although I had hoped to purchase a hat, did not buy one here, as the math proved to be too much on such a hot day:

Even this little guy gave up working the crowds after an hour or so:

Perhaps some vacation- beach wear with an authentic Aussi vibe........hmmm.....maybe I'll just keep looking

Could have used a cool drink, but I don't think I could do a decent Johnny Depp impression my "interpretive dance" could possibly have been mis-interpreted, so just walked on by.....

Our business here is done....time to head for the beach:

A popular surfing spot

May not be Whitehaven, but will do in a pinch
