Day 105: Friday, March 12th, 2010.
The Whitsundays to Rockhampton, Australia.

Per the Contiki Brochure, "After a ferry back to the mainland, plug in you MP3 or chat with friends as we drive through scenic Mackay, with
countryside full of vibrant green vegetation and sugar cane plantations. Continue down the Capricorn Coast and head inland to an authentic country homestead, right in the heart of Queensland’s cattle country, for our overnight stay. During our time at Langmorn, a working cattle station, you’ll experience a taste of real Aussie country life. The farmer will show you around the enormous property in a behind-the-scenes look at daily life on the farm. Then taste local hospitality tonight as your welcoming hosts pile your table high with a hearty roast dinner. Later, have a go at whip cracking under night lights and if it’s cool, settle in around the bonfire, kick back with a drink and hang out with your new friends."

So the farm was pretty cool. They had taken an old airplane hanger (they're all big into flying) and converted it into a dinning hall and rooms- specially designed for Contiki actually. The surroundings were pretty enough that I did my Australia P.O.N. here. She'd have liked it. We did a quick tractor drive around the compound but it did a quick downpour so our ride was cut short. But, not before seeing some of their weird ass Brahman cow's. Very saggy necks- they need to get a little nip/tuck job done. That night, as the above brochure said, the showed us how to crack whips (I passed, I could see disaster looming), we had a great home cooked meal and then they pulled out the karaoke. I had fun listening to everyone but wasn't feeling the urge to get up and sing (I love karaoke) so i just listened. I was still exhausted from sailing so I called it a night and the party actually shut down shortly after. Probably because the world revolves around me. 😉

You did sing the theme to Rawhide with a real whip crack?
You should've done I'm on a Boat for karaoke.
