pretty sweeeeet!
Well we have left Airile Beach after cyclone Larry ruined my dream of diving my first time on the Great Barrier Reef. We are now in MaKay at a friends house. I feel like I am living the life of luxury. I got to have a BUBBLE BATH and sleep in a QUEEN SIZE bed. After living out of a car for the last few months I felt like was at a SPA. Really, it was just nice to sit at someones house and have supper like normal people. Horray!

Airlie Beach was such a cool town. Its mainly just a little beach town that backpackers stay at on the way to their next destination. It has heaps of tours, from sailing the islands to diving, to croc safaris. There are a tonne of young people everywhere. We met some really awesome people in our dive class. There was this super neat guy from France that barely spoke English (lived out of his van), a few people from Ireland, Switzerland, Austria as well as a local that let us stay at his house and threw a huge cyclone party. That might not have been the smartest thing to do considering

good times in Airlie Bay...
his house is a stones throw away from the beach, but the party was one of the funnest I've ever been to. All the guys started dressing in skirts and little tops. Very fun night....!

So we are going to be leaving for Fraser Island today to rip around on sand dunes driving 4x4s for a few days. That should be fun. Tenneal and I have to complete 4 open water dives before we are certified divers, so we are going to Byron Bay to finish that off. Apperently thay have awesome dive sites and the visibility right now is awesome (18 meters, if that means anything to anyone), so we are happy about that.

Byron Bay also has a blues and roots festival we are going to as well. Not to make anyone jealous but here are some of the gigs we get to see...

Pete Murray, David Gray, Public Enemy, Michael Franti, Jamie Cullum and heaps more!

That being said I am signing off - we have a 7 hour drive ahead of us tomorrow morning - so we are ok!

Later!

Everyone looks for a reason to have a party and cross dress. Here is our mate Ben taking full advantage of the Cyclone.

Nice T
Hi, You will have to post some dive photos. It is an awesome sport, my wife and I are certified and love to dive. Again feeling a bit envious. Have fun and good luck with your open water phase! Steve Shore
