Magnetic Island-Queensland :17th -20th July
Once again Cpt Cook is involved in the name, his compass would not travis well when near the island, magnetic by name and magnetic by nature as it’s truly an unspoilt national park with lovely secluded beaches and abundant wildlife. We loved staying on this enchanting island which is only half an hour by ferry from Townsville our guesthouse at Horseshoe Bay was very comfortable. During our stay we were fortunate enough to see koala’s in the wild when we walked to The Forts. These were built as look-outs during WW11.
Magnetic boast 320 days sunshine a year and is the sunniest spot on the Queensland coast. Would definately go there again if we can- lots of lovely walks and a very colouful place.
