Edit Blog Post
I woke early (as usual) and clamboured down from my top bunk ever so daintily (not!) and off for my early morning cuppa.
At 8.30 I and about 25 others went for our champagne breakfast in a tropical park that is part of the resort where the hostel is. We had an enormouse breakfast and lots of animals were brought around for us to look at and stroke. I sat with an ozzie family who were staying here for easter weekend, and they we had a great time together.
First up was a wombat who was very cute and cuddly, then it was a python, then a small crock (mouth taped closed) parrots and last but not least koala ..... aaaahhhh . The guide told us that they are solitary animals and when its mating season there is no courting - the male just grabs the female by the scruff of the neck and basically rapes her, then leaves, never to be seen again !!! charming !!!
The joey is born and climbs into the mothers pouch and latches onto a nipple and stays there for the next 6 months, after then it climbs onto mums back and
stays there for another 6 months to learn how to be a koala. As far as i can gather that means, sitting in a tree, eating eucolyptus leaves and sleeping.
After that i went to the beach, I went into a shop[ bought a necklace and a proper case for my sunglasses. it was a bit drizzly but still warm so i set up camp. Then i remembered i needed a drink so i packed up and went to the shop. Set up camp again and realised i needed to put my cozzie on, and i was not going to do the changing behind a towel saga, so i packed up again and walked to the loos. Changed and walked back. Set up camp for the third time and remembered i'd left my sunglasses in the loo !!!!! I'm not making this up i promise. So I packed up AGAIN and walked back and just to add insult to injury ......... they were gone !!! I was NOT amused !!!!!
So for the forth time set up camp and yes you guessed ........... it started to rain again ...... this woman was not for moving !!! I sat
there reading my book and the rain soon stopped. I'm going to ask about tomorrow if anyone handed my sunglasses in.
I came back to the hostel about 5pm and had a nice cuppa tea, chilled in a hammock then quick shower and out to the bar. The hostel has huge tropical trees and plants (Katie youd be in heaven !) with little bridges around. There are possoms walking around everywhere including the kitchen !!! They look like giant rats but seem very cute at the same time, i was feeding one that was sitting up a tree.
Then there were 3 wallabys and a possom behind the laundry all playing happily togerther, it was dark so my pics wont be the best. Pizza and cocktial for tea and now i'm hanging out in the bar with a couple of girls from my dorm.
night night xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
