There are older settlements in outback Queensland, but Longreach has a significant role both historically and continuing both commercially and for tourists. Marg and Rob purchased a Horizon Wattle (Mercedes Sprinter) motorhome built by Ballina Campers and planned to circumnavigate Australia over the following couple of years, collecting it just after Rob retired in May 2011. The couple of years grew out to over 4 years during which time we travelled from Brisbane to Perth return accross the Nullarbor both ways in 2011; in 2012 we travelled various places on the East Coast of Australia. Was sold years ago and wandered the world as a luxury aircraft. Michael Jackson and John Travolta have flown on this one. John's one is the last of the 9 of this model supplied by Boeing.

This is more like my me!
Now this blog gives me aircraft for a change. We have flown on a DC3 707 and 747 plus looked in a Rapide at an airshow at Wanaka. I see Margaret is in the captains seat and Rob allocated the co-pilots seat! The 747 is small in comparison to the 380 now.
