In Normanton we went to the Railway Station. There were some Brolgas outside that were fed every afternoon with some bread. I liked them.

In Karumba I got a sunnyboy. There was not much to do so, when we did what we had to do, we left. After a long time, we came to Dunbar Station. In this station people were branding the cows so they wouldn’t get lost. We camped at Mitchell River you could not get across because there was no ford in the water. If you tried to get across and you got stuck it was $500 to get towed out. As well there was “salty’s” (salt water crocodiles) in the water.
