Back to the beach life

Well we are on the gold coast now. We have been doing a lot. We went “Zorbing”. Basically ripping down a big hill in a huge plastic ball with 40 gallons of water swishing around us. It was amazing, but it was over too fast. We are staying in a sweet apartment with Tenneals mates Kane and Shane. Shane works the bungy in Surfers and he tries to get us to jump everyday. He says crazy things like "You can do it for free! Its so fun! Ive only had one person pee their pants! Ive done it over 100 times!" Im happy for Shane, but I will indeed wet myself, and I want to keep peeing my pants out of the public eye....

Back to the apartment...we have a huge balcony with a patio set and massive BBQ overlooking the city. We are a 10 second walk from the beach. You can hear the massive waves crash against the shore in the morning. Miss T and I have been getting up early for beach jogs and swims. Its super neat when Shane or Cane yell “G’day Mate! How’s the surf?” to people walking by the apartment every morning. I love how everyone here gives each other surf reports every morning.

So Miss T and I have gone to a massive water park, we have lazed at the beach, and we have stayed away from the shopping malls. So far so good. One of the Kanes neighbours works at a surf shop and he is getting us some Malibu longboards to use for the day. The surf isn’t that good, but beginners don’t need good surf. We like baby waves. We were swimming in 6 footers yesterday, and they are insane. We totally got our butts kicked and were in bed by 9:30. The sun and surf sure sucks the life out of you fast!

We are going to ASIA April 23rd so we are almost out of time here. That makes me sad😞 So from now until the 23rd we are heading to Byron Bay for the Blues and Roots festival, to complete our open water dives, and then its off the Sydney to sell Spanky (sniff sniff) and to chill with Michelle, JR and their family before we head off. I can’t believe the first half of this trip is almost done….Its been amazing, absolutely amazing….

So with that I am signing off. We have been relaxing a lot. Its really nice to have a home base for once. Moving around so much gets a little tiring. I probably won't get another blog on the go until Byron Bay so stay tuned!

Hey Avril, Sounds like you ladies are having a blast one mini-adventure at a time! I'm glad that you are enjoying yourself so much. I wish I could be there with you but I still haven't won that elusive lottery yet! So you'll just have to break a couple hearts for me while you're there ;) It sounds like the experience of a lifetime so keep enjoying it and I'll keep enjoying the blogs. adventure ~ the land between entertainment and panic
wowowoowo... i LOVE your blogs.. i ALWAYS laugh and have a HUGE smile on my face as i read.. i can sooo hear your voice, too. you are an amazing reporter of all the adventures that come your way!!! i am quite content and happy to be where i am, but your descriptions of all that you see and do are spectacular!! what an experience you and miss T are having... you would be an utter blast to travel with, no doubt!! we should plan for something in a yr or 2.... what PHUN!!!! well my little sweet potato, much love and light to you.. keep us posted as you can.. i'm heading to canada/regina on april 24, so i guess i'll see you when you get back home... be safe!!! *HUGS* miss hollY.. your little pickle head
