So clear and blue...And also acidic so no fish! Yay, Rozi can swim in safety!
Hee hee...

Well not absolutley everywhere actually, but we did see quite a few about on the Island.
So, we've just spent the last 3 days on Fraser Island - the largest sand island in the world and the only place where you can see 4 different ecosystems existing next to each other all at once...

You can stand on top of a sand dune with the rainforest behind you, a freshwater lake at your feet and the sea crashing on the horizon. Its quite an experience.
There are no roads on the Island and only 4 wheel drive vehicles can manage the tracks that wind their way across sand, through forest and along the beaches. We went on a 3 day tour in a massive 4WD bus/truck thing, which was really cool. Our driver was also a park ranger and wildlife photographer, and of course a crazy aussie (goes without saying these days) and knew everything about everything and just didnt stop talking for the whole 3 days!!! Learnt so much...probably most of it useless information!!! And he did admit he makes up a fair bit of it to impress tourists, so it might actually just be a
Pelican..Pelican..Pelican..

So much fun to watch as the stick their whole head under water and scoop up fish.
load of rubbish!

We swam in the clearest freshwater lakes, climbed sand dunes, jumped off them, body boarded down sand dunes into a lake at the bottom, explored shipwrecks, walked in the rainforest and Steve even had the ultimate authentic Fraser Island experience - getting his shoes nicked by a Dingo!!! Apparently they love to take shoes, especially smelly ones, and like any dog they stash them in secret places and chew them up! Our ranger said hes had at least 4 pairs of boots taken by Dingoes since hes worked there! A shopping trip is now in order...

The Dingoes on Fraser Isalnd are apparently the purest breed of the native Australian wild dogs, and despite some incidents in recent years seem to live quite happily alongside the tourists on the Island, as long as they are not fed and left well alone!

Fraser is a beautiful, peaceful Island and was so chilled out we didnt want to leave! Saw some amazing views, did loads of really cool stuff and thoroughly enjoyed our time there!

Next stop...Noosa for some surfing lessons!!!

loadsa love
