Daintree River Cruise
This morning I was collected at The Sea Temple resort by Billy Tea Tours in a Toyota 4x4 Landcruiser to drive north along the scenic coastal route to Mossman Lush farmland contrasts with seascape as we approached the majestic Daintree River
Stopping for morning coffee we were all aboard for an informative river cuise Here we spotted a 3 foot estuarine crocodile hiding in the muddy river bank amongst the mangroves also a more rare baby croc too Then towards the month of the river we saw fruit bats in the trees before reboarding our 4 x 4 and ascending the Alexandera Range and pausing for a panaramic view of the World Heritage Tropical Rainforest merging with the Coral Sea Next stop was a walk through Cape Tribulation National Park looking for the rare Cassowary(a bit like an emu) but sadly did not see one and experiencing the rainforest up close. Some trees are over 700 years old Next we stopped for a delicious bbq and had a chance to feed Kangaroos (see photo evidence!!) then on to a secluded tranquil freshwater stream to swim and enjoy exotic fruit and Billy Can Tea and cakes! Next stop was a walk through Cape Tribulation National Park and along the Bloomfield Track to the coral Sea at Cape Tribulation where the rainforest gives way to white silica sand and warm tropical waters, where the Rainforest meets the Reef Heading back home we stopped for an exotic ice cream before arriving at my new home for the night at Voyages Silky Oaks Lodge at Mossman and my Tree House!
A long but most enjoyable day made more special by our guide John's knowledge, expertese and good humour in making us get the most out of our Rain Forest experience You truly realise just how important this World heritage Site is not only for the well being of our planet but for the need to keep it intact for future generations to enjoy and experience.........

Sharp intake of breath!!!!
Wow Kieth. I cannot believe how much you have fitted in, in such a short space of time. My work colleague Su was blown away by the turtle picture and asked if she could have a copy for her 4 year old son. Hope you don't mind!! Really enjoying sharing this with you. God bless and keep safe. Love Tracey

The Rainforest looks amazing. I bet there's lots of creepy crawlies as well as all the other amazing wildlife there too. I'd love to be there to see those lovely views. Thanks so much for the amazing pics Keith. You're doing a fab job with this blog. Well Done. So great to have this record of all the things you've done on your trip! xxx
